MedRIS Platform Specifications

MedRIS client software is currently supported on the following operating systems:

Windows 2000™
Windows 98™
Windows 95™
Windows NT™
Windows versions for portable hand-held or pen-based computers

The MedRIS server side components reside on a Windows NT 4.0 Server or a Windows 2000 Server. The MedRIS database services are provided by Microsoft SQL Server 7/SQL Server 6.5 via ODBC (Open Database Connectivity). Communications between client and server is done via TCP/IP. Client computers may be Pentium class or higher with 64MB of RAM. Server configurations vary depending on the number of clients.

MedRIS client software is designed to run under low bandwidth conditions, which makes it suitable for wide-area networks and even Internet use. It also runs with full features under Microsoft Windows Terminal Server, Citrix Metaframe™, and Citrix Winframe™.
